Carolina Hurricanes’ attacker, Seth Jarvis, is confirmed to step in for Tampa Bay Lightning’s attacker, Brayden Point, on the men’s hockey team representing Canada at the Milan Cortina Olympics.

The Canadian Olympic Committee issued a statement on Thursday, indicating Point’s incapacity to participate owing to a physical ailment.

The 29-year-old Calgary native, who plays centre, sustained a knee setback during Tampa Bay’s dominant 5-1 win against the Philadelphia Flyers on the 12th of January.

This season, Jarvis has accumulated 25 goals and 18 assists across 48 appearances for the Hurricanes, having also been a member of the Canadian squad that secured victory at the 4 Nations Face-Off in the previous year.

Throughout his NHL tenure, the 24-year-old athlete from Winnipeg has recorded a total of 121 goals and 256 points in 352 regular-season contests.

Jarvis represents the most recent inclusion to the Canadian lineup, following the earlier substitution of Anthony Cirelli, the injured Lightning centre, by Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett.

Canada is scheduled to commence the competition facing Czechia on February 12th.
