Gen.G Global Academy alumnus Jung ‘Xiesta‘ Si-hwan has committed to a four-year agreement with Gen.G Esports’ VALORANT division.
This particular agreement represents the lengthiest commitment that the South Korean professional gaming entity has ever established with any individual pro player throughout its existence.
Xiesta, who was born in the year 2010, participated in Gen.G Global Academy’s talent nurturing initiative, where he honed his abilities through what the organization describes as ‘systematic instruction and authentic competitive engagement.’
This burgeoning talent has taken part in various VALORANT competitions while playing for the GenG Scholars squad and also secured victory at the Ansan Esports Festival in 2023.
“I intend to exert maximum effort to reciprocate the profound trust you [Gen.G Esports] have placed in me!” Xiesta communicated via X (formerly Twitter).
As of this publication, Xiesta holds the rank of Radiant within VALORANT, possessing 729 RR and securing the 31st position across the APAC region throughout V26 Act 1.
Nevertheless, due to the South Korean competitor’s age of merely 15, he is currently unable to participate in the VCT circuit. Consequently, he has been temporarily transferred to the South Korean Challengers roster, ONSIDE GAMING.
“A burgeoning talent who emerged with startling speed, competitor Xiesta has formalized a temporary transfer agreement with GGA facilitated by Onside,” the team publicly declared. “Onside intends to support him entirely, enabling the player’s full capabilities to manifest brilliantly.”
At What Point Is Xiesta Expected To Make His First Appearance For Gen.G Esports?
The specific intentions the organization holds for Xiesta remain undefined; nonetheless, he will qualify to participate in VCT during 2028, upon reaching the age of 18. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that the current duelists for Gen.G Esports, Kim ‘t3xture‘ Na-ra and Kim ‘ZynX‘ Dong-ha, are under agreements that extend until 2027.
Additionally, based on his recent match records, Xiesta has been honing his skills with duelist characters in Ranked play, such as Yoru, Jett, and Neon. Consequently, it will be captivating to witness the player’s evolution from a dominant ranked competitor to a top-tier live event participant.
