MVP launches women’s platform; Dubois-Harper headlines first ESPN card.

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) is introducing MVPW, a fresh worldwide forum dedicated to female pugilism, having declared a multi-year partnership with ESPN. This collaboration is set to commence on April 5, presenting three distinct fight nights that will showcase Alycia Baumgardner, Caroline Dubois, Ellie Scotney, Shadasia Green, and Holly Holm in individual contests.

MVPW-01, the initial scheduled occasion, marks MVP’s previously publicized entry into the United Kingdom. Its main attraction will be WBC lightweight champion Dubois (12-0-1, 5 KOs) confronting WBO champion Terri Harper (16-2-2, 6 KOs) in a 10-round unification match held at London’s Olympia Events. Additionally, unified women’s junior featherweight champion Scotney (11-0) is slated to compete against WBA champion Mayelli Flores (13-1-1, 4 KOs) in a 10-round fight to crown an undisputed titleholder, concurrently with Chantelle Cameron (21-1, 8 KOs) ascending two weight classes to challenge Michaela Kotaskova (11-0-4, 2 KOs) in a 10-round junior middleweight contest for the unclaimed WBO championship.

The second installment, MVPW-02, is scheduled for April 17 at the Infosys Theater within Madison Square Garden in New York City. The headlining contest will see unified junior lightweight champion Baumgardner (17-1, 7 KOs) defending her championships against South Korea’s Bo Mi Re Shin (19-3-3, 10 KOs) in a fight structured according to men’s boxing regulations, featuring 12 rounds of three minutes each. In the supporting main event, Green (16-1, 11 KOs) will defend her unified super middleweight belts when she faces former light heavyweight champion Lani Daniels (11-4-2, 1 KO).

“New York establishes the standard for boxing’s most significant evenings. Attaining undisputed status in that city represented a monumental achievement, and supporters have warmly welcomed me since day one,” Baumgardner articulated in a prepared statement. “Each bout for me serves as an opportunity for advancement; my intention is to assert dominance and forge a legacy that extends beyond championship straps. ESPN acts as the platform where remarkable feats are chronicled, and I am prepared to deliver a performance unfitting that caliber. Furthermore, this contest offers a distinctive cultural fusion: witnessing two Korean combatants on such a prominent platform is a rarity for enthusiasts, and I take pride in embodying every facet of my identity.”

Holm (34-3-3, 9 KOs) and Stephanie Han (12-0, 3 KOs) are slated for a return match for Han’s WBA lightweight championship on May 30 as part of MVPW-03, taking place in the titleholder’s hometown of El Paso, Texas. Han previously bested Holm via a technical decision when an unintentional headbutt concluded their initial encounter during the seventh round.

“During this upcoming event in my home city, there will be an absence of justifications, no room for conjecture, and absolute clarity regarding who the superior competitor is,” stated Han. “I eagerly anticipate demonstrating my talents to a vast audience of millions watching on ESPN.”

ESPN is designated to be the American broadcasting partner for MVPW until the year 2028. The roster of athletes under this promotional banner additionally features unified featherweight titleholder Amanda Serrano, undisputed bantamweight champion Cherneka Johnson, WBC featherweight champion Tiara Brown, IBF junior middleweight champion Oshae Jones, Ebanie Bridges, and Tamm Thibeault.

“From its very beginning, MVP has deliberately pursued the development of a unifying brand, positioning itself as the worldwide center for women’s professional boxing. This initiative aims to feature the planet’s top pugilists, captivating current boxing aficionados while also drawing in previously untapped fan groups who champion female athleticism, and currently, we are delighted to commence a fresh epoch,” declared Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, the co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions. “Throughout the last half-decade, we have significantly invested in women athletes, presented events that have made history and shattered viewership records, and definitively demonstrated that these competitors are deserving of the sport’s grandest platforms.”
