Veteran UFC commentator Joe Rogan suggests that Ronda Rousey’s pointed criticisms regarding the promotion’s payment system might instigate substantial modifications.
UFC Hall of Fame inductee Ronda Rousey is set to be the focal point of one of the year’s major combat sports events as she steps back into the octagon to face Gina Carano in May. Rousey and Carano are headlining an impressive fight card orchestrated by Most Valuable Promotions, which also includes Francis Ngannou’s return and a showdown between Nate Diaz and Mike Perry.
This upcoming bout will mark Rousey’s first mixed martial arts contest in nine years, following successive defeats to Amanda Nunes and Holly Holm during her tenure with the UFC. As Rousey gears up for her comeback, she has repeatedly criticized her former organization, most recently targeting UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell.
During the inaugural press conference for the Rousey vs. Carano event, Rousey vehemently attacked UFC CEO Dana White and the promotion over their compensation methods for athletes. She declared the UFC ‘one of the worst environments for fighters’ and escalated the ongoing discourse surrounding fighter remuneration.
Long-serving UFC analyst Joe Rogan, a proponent for increased fighter compensation, believes Rousey’s widely discussed tirade could trigger considerable transformation.
Joe Rogan Commends Ronda Rousey Following Her ‘Demanding’ Statements Regarding UFC Athlete Remuneration
In a recent installment of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan expressed an unanticipated opinion concerning his long-term employer.
Ronda Rousey just went on a rant about the UFC’s fighter pay 😳
“The UFC is one of the worst places to go. Their champions like Valentina are selling pictures of their t*tties on OnlyFans.
They just got $7.7 billion dollars. There’s no reason they can’t pay their athletes.” pic.twitter.com/TkaB6ljymb

“Listen, her observations were valid,” Rogan commented on Rousey’s statements.
“The crucial aspect is that she’s initiating this dialogue, compelling the UFC to increase fighter compensation… Should Netflix manage to establish itself in boxing with prominent athletes, it could emerge as a significant force, thereby boosting everyone’s earnings.
“If her claims were illogical, she wouldn’t voice them, correct?” Rogan proceeded, referring to Rousey. “Therefore, if her statements hold logic, one must concede that she has a valid argument… Should additional participants enter this arena and more individuals gain free agent status, the situation could become quite compelling.” (courtesy of Bloody Elbow)
At the time of this publication, neither White nor Campbell has issued a public reply to Rousey’s disapproving comments regarding the UFC and its operational strategies.
