The fighting arena was back in Miami, Florida, for the evening’s UFC 327, which featured a dozen fights, with the main event being Jiri Prochazka facing Carlos Ulberg.
The much-awaited light heavyweight championship match concluded in a remarkably wild manner not seen in a while. Carlos Ulberg began strongly with powerful leg kicks but appeared to injure his knee when disengaging. Jiri Prochazka first seized the chance, yet after delivering a few brutal low kicks to Ulberg’s compromised leg and realizing the severity of the damage, Prochazka appeared to ease off. Soon after Prochazka’s intensity waned, ‘Black Jag’ landed a significant left hook that knocked the Czech competitor down. Ulberg then aggressively attacked Jiri with hammer fists, rendering him unconscious momentarily.
The secondary main event at UFC 327 also featured a light heavyweight contest, with Paulo Costa clashing against Azamat Murzakanov. ‘The Eraser’ commenced with an excellent performance in the first round, delivering numerous powerful kicks to the Russian’s lead leg and torso. Nevertheless, Azamat mounted a robust comeback in the second round, damaging Costa multiple times during the five-minute period. Subsequently, in the third round, Costa landed significant kicks early, targeting both the head and body. Azamat seemed to sustain an injury to his left arm, and a quick head kick shortly thereafter decisively concluded the fight (witness it here).
After the night’s proceedings concluded, UFC management declared during the post-fight press briefing that two combatants would each receive $100,000 in performance incentives, and an additional fighter would collect $200,000 for outstanding endeavors.
