Nelly Korda secured victory at the 2026 Chevron Championship this past Sunday, delivering a display that underscored her reclaim of the top position in women’s professional golf. Commencing the concluding round with a five-stroke advantage, her play was both precise and impactful, maintaining a four-shot separation from her competitors throughout the entire final day at Memorial Park.

Korda finished the competition by carding a 2-under 70, ultimately clinching a triumph by five strokes, which marked her third major championship title professionally.

This win represents her seventeenth success on the LPGA Tour circuit and her twenty-first overall globally. The 27-year-old American golfing sensation ascended once more to the pinnacle of the women’s global rankings, a position she had not held since August of 2025.

Korda accomplished a complete start-to-finish victory, effectively preventing the Chevron Championship from ever becoming a true challenge. Following her precise 5-iron shot to within five feet for a birdie on the sixteenth hole during Thursday’s inaugural round, Korda maintained her leading position without relinquishing it.

By achieving this feat, she became one of merely three golfers over the past five decades, alongside Juli Inkster (1989) and Amy Alcott (1991), both of whom competed at the Nabisco Dinah Shore, to triumph in LPGA majors while holding a multi-shot advantage following every single round.

Korda appears to be merely at the commencement of what could be another remarkable season. She has participated in the concluding pairing for all five events she has entered this year, securing victories in both the initial tournament of the season and the first major, in addition to placing second in the remaining three.

Korda had previously claimed the Chevron Championship title in 2024, marking her second career major, a win that succeeded her triumph at the 2021 Women’s PGA Championship. She captured all significant LPGA accolades in 2024 but experienced a season without wins in 2025, preceding her success at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions to inaugurate the 2026 season.
