The relationship between Anderson Silva and UFC CEO Dana White has been strained ever since the unfulfilling conclusion of the legendary fighter’s active career.
UFC Hall of Famer Anderson Silva is arguably counted among the most phenomenal athletes to ever compete within the Octagon, boasting an illustrious career characterized by largely unbroken dominance. During his peak, Silva was frequently dubbed the ‘Michael Jordan of MMA’ due to his captivating fighting technique and command inside the cage.
Subsequent to an astonishing knockout defeat by Chris Weidman at UFC 162, Silva’s performance trajectory shifted irrevocably, as he failed to secure a single victory in eight of his final nine UFC contests. A technical knockout loss to Uriah Hall in October 2020 marked the definitive end of his UFC journey, leading the promotion to terminate their association following his third consecutive loss.
UFC CEO Dana White recently garnered attention when he asserted that he and Silva have not exchanged words since Silva’s departure. White claims Silva declines communication with him, a reaction to White’s refusal to arrange another fight for him after the defeat to Hall.
Only five months after publicly stating he had ‘no issues’ with White, Silva adopted a contrary position when responding to White’s observations.
Anderson Silva Fiercely Rejects Dana White’s Statements, Asserting He ‘Rescued the Organization’
In a recent remark posted on Instagram, Silva addressed White’s assertions regarding their connection.
“That bald individual is uttering nonsense,” Silva articulated.
“I have been separated from the federation for several years now, yet it appears neither the present-day competitors nor the aforementioned bald figure can erase my achievements from memory.
“At his core, the bald person understands that when I was active, there was no complaining; opponents were consistently defeated, and I rescued the organization on multiple occasions. Furthermore, for absolute clarity, it would appear the bald person lacks the ability to enumerate.”
As of this publication, White has offered no rejoinder to Silva’s statements. Silva has not participated in any form of combat sports competition since his decisive knockout victory over Tyron Woodley in their boxing encounter last December, which took place on the preliminary card of the Jake Paul versus Anthony Joshua event.
