UFC CEO Dana White addressed demands for disciplinary action against Khamzat Chimaev after the ex-champion’s widely publicized altercation involving Dillon Danis.
Just a few weeks after his surprising defeat by Sean Strickland, former UFC middleweight titleholder Khamzat Chimaev’s choice to compete again led to a chaotic fight at Real American Freestyle 10.
In St. Louis last weekend, Chimaev and the controversial athlete Dillon Danis were the main event of a strong lineup at RAF 10. Merely 45 seconds into their contest, Chimaev secured a pin on Danis, but then Danis tried a guillotine choke, causing an uproar inside the venue.
A full-scale fight erupted on the wrestling mats at RAF 10, involving Chimaev, Danis, and their support staff. Fortunately, no severe physical harm came to either competitor from the occurrence.
This event, however, marked the most recent episode involving Chimaev, whether inside or outside the UFC. The confrontation with Danis occurred only weeks after the UFC had deployed enhanced security measures for Chimaev’s bout against Strickland at UFC 328.
A number of UFC combatants, such as Arman Tsarukyan and Chimaev himself, have participated in RAF events during breaks from their UFC schedules. The connection between UFC CEO Dana White and RAF might have been imperiled by the widely circulated altercation, but the UFC chief remains unfazed.
Dana White Expresses No Apprehension Regarding Khamzat Chimaev’s Recent Altercation at RAF 10
During the UFC Freedom 250 post-fight press conference, White faced questions about whether Chimaev’s fracas at RAF 10 could possibly endanger the organization’s ties with the emerging wrestling league.

Regarding the Chimaev/Danis disturbance, White stated, “Who is facing repercussions? Dillon Danis is not under my contract.”
“Is (Khamzat) in difficulty? Indeed, he was involved in a major scuffle with numerous individuals. I can tell you this: if Dillon Danis is the scheduled opponent, I can assure you that a fight will ensue. No, (I hold no worries).” (courtesy of Bloody Elbow)
Although he initially informed White about his intention to switch to the light heavyweight division, Chimaev is keen on a rematch with Strickland sometime this year. Regarding Danis’s future, he holds a multi-bout agreement with RAF, but it remains unclear if the promotion will sanction him for his involvement in the disturbance.
