The NFL announced on Friday that Indianapolis Colts cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt has been handed a one-match suspension due to a violation of the league’s personal conduct policy.
This suspension will be served by the five-year veteran during the Colts’ opening week game against the Baltimore Colts. He can make his return in Week 2, when Indianapolis travels to face the Kansas City Chiefs. During the preseason, Taylor-Britt remains eligible to participate in games.
The 26-year-old Taylor-Britt was taken into custody in September 2025 for reckless driving—specifically for reportedly performing a burnout—and operating a vehicle without a valid license close to Paycor Stadium, home of the Cincinnati Bengals. Following a plea agreement reached with prosecutors in January, he received a five-day jail sentence.

Following a four-year stint in Cincinnati, Taylor-Britt agreed to a one-year contract worth $1.3 million with the Colts. He currently occupies the third spot on the Indianapolis depth chart at cornerback, positioned behind Sauce Gardner and Charvarius Ward. His move to Indianapolis reunites him with defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who oversaw the defense during three of Taylor-Britt’s four years with the Bengals.
A Lisfranc injury to his left foot in Week 11 restricted Taylor-Britt to just eight appearances last season. Before suffering that injury, he had surrendered his starting role to DJ Turner II, which ultimately led the Bengals to let his rookie deal run out.
In comments made to the media after signing his contract with the Colts, Taylor-Britt admitted that off-field struggles played a significant role in his dip in performance over the prior season.
“The defensive scheme or coordinator wasn’t the issue,” Taylor-Britt explained, according to Joel A. Erickson of the Indianapolis Star. “It was entirely an internal struggle for me. I just wasn’t in the right frame of mind, and that was evident on the field.”
During his four seasons in Cincinnati, Taylor-Britt appeared in 47 contests with 40 starts, maintaining average stats of 73 tackles, three interceptions, and 14 pass deflections each year. Nebraska produced the cornerback, whom the Bengals selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft with the 60th overall pick.
