Aliyah Boston Praises Kelsey Mitchell’s Record-Breaking 23rd 20-Point Game

During Sunday evening’s matchup, the Indiana Fever played without Aliyah Boston. The four-time All-Star did not suit up for her team’s dominant 113-90 victory against the Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena.

A persistent issue with her lower right leg kept Boston sidelined for the contest. Nevertheless, there seems to be no major alarm regarding the health of the 6-foot-5 center-forward. Since this marked the tail end of a back-to-back sequence and concluded a five-game stretch on the road, Indiana opted to rest Boston for the evening.

With Boston sidelined, Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell stepped up to lead the squad. Clark delivered an outstanding performance, racking up 37 points and sinking a career-best eight shots from beyond the arc. Mitchell also delivered a stellar display, contributing 30 points while hitting six three-pointers of her own.

Boston jumped onto social media to voice her excitement over Clark’s historic performance. She likewise offered a brief, single-word response to Mitchell continuing her impressive scoring run.

“duhhhh😵‍💫” was Boston’s reaction on her Instagram story, where she reposted the Fever’s graphic celebrating Mitchell.

According to the franchise’s update, Mitchell has now put together a streak of 23 straight games with at least 20 points. Having recently overtaken the previous benchmark of 20 consecutive games set by reigning WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson, Mitchell continues her relentless offensive display.

Following the conclusion of their five-game away stretch, the Fever will enjoy a four-day break. They are scheduled to return to Indiana, where they will welcome the Connecticut Sun to Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday.

With this win, Indiana improves its record to 25-14, maintaining their hold on the fifth spot in the league standings.
