Brendan Allen targets Imavov or top middleweight winner by early November following UFC Vegas 118 win.

Brendan Allen aims for a championship contention bout following his third consecutive victory.

Last Saturday, Allen featured as the co-main event at UFC Vegas 118, engaging in a full-length contest against Edmen Shahbazyan. Following three rounds of intense exchanges, “All In” secured a unanimous decision win, with the match also being recognized as the “Fight of the Night.”

With the recent UFC event concluded, Allen is now pursuing a substantial career advancement. In his post-fight media appearance, Allen requested a showdown against the highly-rated middleweight contender Nassourdine Imavov. Should that bout not materialize immediately, his focus would then shift to the victor of a much-discussed potential fight between Dricus du Plessis and Kamaru Usman (as reported by Bloody Elbow).

“One can never tell. Allow Nassourdine and me to compete,” Allen stated. “Should Nassourdine prefer to pause and await an opportunity, that’s acceptable. Grant me a match against the winner of Usman versus Dricus in October, or at the latest, early November.”

Imavov remains optimistic about being the next challenger for Sean Strickland’s middleweight championship. Meanwhile, Khamzat Chimaev has been vocally advocating for a second fight against Strickland, presenting the UFC leadership with a pending choice.

Allen has been engaged in a year-long dispute with du Plessis, frequently expressing his desire to face the former UFC Middleweight Champion. Before UFC Vegas 118, Allen informed MMAFighting that he had been assured a contest with “Stillknocks” was confirmed before he eventually agreed to fight Shahbazyan. He even used the term “manipulated” to describe his belief that the fight would occur.
