The competitive gaming hub, FACEIT, has made public its plan requiring participants to operate using Windows 11 when engaging in matches.

This marks the final stage in the platform’s anti-fraud strategies, targeted at preventing dishonest players from joining in matchmaking and sanctioned games.

Revealed on October 29th, every FACEIT player will be obliged to utilize Windows 11 starting October 14th, 2026. The set date coincides with the termination of Microsoft’s prolonged security update program for the specified operating system.

In combination with discontinuing support for Windows 10, FACEIT has put in place two more prerequisites for players engaging with the platform.

Beginning November 25th, TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot must be enabled for all participants. As communicated by the platform, ‘greater than 95%’ of players have previously activated these dual features.

The concluding element of the anti-fraud interventions requires players to switch on IOMMU and VBS on their personal computers. Since August, this setting has stood as a required criteria for all players holding an ELO rating in excess of 3,000. Another rollout will be taking place from November.

“We understand that enabling these requirements can present significant challenges for our players,” FACEIT stated. “Nevertheless, we are of the opinion that the widespread adoption of these safety measures represents an important stride for the amplified benefit of the whole competitive environment.”

FACEIT In 2025

All through the year, FACEIT has pressed forward with its campaign opposing dishonest players, endeavoring to establish a balanced playing field spanning matchmaking and sanctioned games hosted on its service.

Alongside putting into effect anti-fraud protocols for all players, the platform is constantly embarking on endeavors to preserve integrity throughout its high-visibility Counter-Strike circuits. This October, FACEIT cleared up-and-coming player ‘nocries’ from any integrity transgressions, inviting them for participation in its exclusive FPL circuit.

With FACEIT taking the initiative in enacting protocols to repress hackers from emerging in matches, the move to Windows 11 is another progression in molding a just landscape where players can engage competitively.
