Knicks Fans Allegedly Throw Objects at Wembanyama, Spurs at Team Hotel

The fourth game of the 2026 NBA Finals proved to be a deeply satisfying, possibly historic victory for the dedicated supporters of the New York Knicks. However, it appears some of these fans did not handle their excitement appropriately.

Footage widely shared across online platforms reportedly depicts a gathering of Knicks enthusiasts confronting the San Antonio Spurs as the team arrived back at their hotel after suffering a significant defeat on Wednesday evening. Although the majority of spectators confined their actions to verbal taunts, the recording indicates that various items were hurled towards the team.

A minimum of two items were reportedly aimed at the Spurs’ prominent player, Victor Wembanyama, who maintained his composure while entering the premises.

Additional footage of the occurrence also seems to reveal the deployment of laser pointers:

This marked the conclusion of a difficult evening for the Spurs, a team that had established a 29-point advantage during the third quarter before entirely capitulating to a Knicks squad renowned for remarkable turnarounds. The Knicks currently hold a 3-1 series lead and require just one more victory to secure their first championship since 1973.

This represents the second consecutive contest held in New York exhibiting inappropriate conduct following the game. Following the Spurs’ triumph in the third game, several recordings showed Spurs supporters being assaulted on public thoroughfares, with 21 individuals apprehended after a public viewing event at Bryant Park descended into disorder.

Wembanyama was questioned about these confrontations on Tuesday, offering the following statement:

“My perspective, naturally, is that we must remember this is merely a sporting event. We are simply competing on the court. While I fully appreciate enthusiasm, when it comes to mutual respect, such actions are indefensible.”

The fifth match is set to take place on Saturday in San Antonio (at 8:30 p.m. ET, broadcast on ABC/ESPN). Should the Spurs intend to claim victory in this series, they will be required to return to New York for Game 6 on Tuesday.
