According to Premier League guidelines, a footballer must have reached their 15th birthday by August 31 of the active season to qualify for senior squad selection.
Since he fulfilled the league’s academic age criteria ahead of the 2026/27 season’s kickoff, Gabriel is officially cleared to make his first Premier League appearance this year, an opportunity that was unavailable to him previously.
If head coach Michael Carrick awards him a senior debut prior to his 16th birthday in October, Gabriel will write his name in the record books as the youngest debutant in Manchester United history.
