Team Falcons have secured Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov’s contract until the year 2030, ensuring that the Russian AWPer remains with the organization following his significant contributions to the team’s victory at the IEM Cologne Major, where he was also awarded MVP. The franchise made this multi-year contract announcement on Monday, October 12, as reported by HLTV.
This contract renewal provides the Falcons with stability surrounding one of their key players as they build upon their inaugural Major victory. However, neither the announcement from Falcons nor HLTV’s coverage revealed the financial details of the agreement.
A long-term contract after a historic success
m0NESY joined the Falcons in April 2025 from G2 Esports, a transfer termed a blockbuster by HLTV. During his tenure with the team, he has maintained an average rating of 1.29, according to the outlet.
At just 21 years of age, he awaited his first achievement with the Falcons, which arrived on a grand scale: the team triumphed at the IEM Cologne Major in June, with m0NESY being honored as the MVP of the tournament. His contract extension preserves that influential presence as the Falcons aim for additional championships.
The roster of the Falcons also features Finn “karrigan” Andersen, Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, René “TeSeS” Madsen, and Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin, while Danny “zonic” Sørensen serves as the coach. The broader Counter-Strike initiative and lineup of the club have gained attention in the context of the Falcons’ aspirations in CS2, with their Major run amplifying the visibility of their top players.
Falcons prepare for upcoming competitions
The victory in Cologne equips the Falcons with a title to safeguard, as the next Major is set to be held in Singapore, as per HLTV. The renewal of m0NESY’s contract indicates he will remain integral to the team’s strategy as they strive for that title defense.
Looking ahead, the Falcons will compete in the Thunderpick World Championship, commencing on October 14. Additionally, IEM Beijing is also scheduled on the team’s agenda ahead of the Major. The media coverage surrounding their successful Cologne run has drawn attention to the Falcons, who are now shifting their immediate focus to the Thunderpick tournament.
