During the 2009 contest, Dwight Howard executed a dunk on a hoop set at a height of 12 feet. Seeking to amaze the panel of judges—which featured Howard himself—McGee decided to bring out an additional basket and position it right next to the original one.
Both of these hoops, standing at the standard official height, were separated by an estimated distance of at least five feet, and after several missed tries, he successfully stuffed a basketball down each rim on his eighth go.
Clutching a basketball in both hands, he launched the one in his right hand against the left backboard, slammed the left-hand ball into the left-side basket, and subsequently jammed the remaining ball into the right-side net. Although it required multiple attempts to complete, the spectacular feat certainly deserved the perfect score of 50.
