Ex-UFC bantamweight titleholder Sean O’Malley lost his patience with a spectator’s disruptive behavior as Tommy McMillen made his way to the cage at Noche UFC.
UFC 145-pounder Tommy McMillen kept up his rapid ascent inside the Octagon, delivering a spectacular performance worthy of ‘Fight of the Year’ consideration at Noche UFC 4 this past Saturday. McMillen secured a unanimous decision victory over Marwan Rahiki in what turned out to be an incredibly chaotic showdown.
Supporting McMillen during his recent triumph were his long-time training partner, former bantamweight king Sean O’Malley, and coach Tim Welch in his corner. O’Malley has played a vital role in guiding McMillen’s trajectory as the prospect edges closer to ranking among the featherweight division’s top 15 fighters.
Even though McMillen is widely regarded as a future standout in the featherweight class, he has also drawn a notable amount of detractors. One such antagonist was present at Noche UFC 4 in Glendale, heckling as McMillen and his entourage headed down the runway.
Following a barrage of verbal abuse from a clearly inebriated spectator directed at McMillen, O’Malley decided to take action himself.

“As we were waiting in the entrance area, this heavily drunk guy in a cowboy hat spent about two minutes yelling, ‘F— you Tommy! You f—— p—-!’ O’Malley recounted.
“So I took my cap, scrunched it up tightly into a ball, and right as we stepped out, I pegged that guy right in his face with it. I did feel slightly guilty afterward, but I’d already told Tim I was going to nail him. I originally planned on handing the cap to a supporter, but he ended up taking it directly to the face instead,” he added.
O’Malley is far from the first athlete in the UFC to retaliate against abusive spectators during their entrance. Lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan previously faced disciplinary action from the Nevada State Athletic Commission after physical contact with a fan during his walk at UFC 300.
