At Bound For Glory, Leon Slater expanded his rising reputation by claiming the title of youngest TNA World Champion to date.

In the headlining bout of Bound For Glory, Slater dethroned Nic Nemeth to secure the TNA World Championship.

At just 22 years old, the high-flying performer stands as the youngest competitor ever to capture a World Championship across TNA, WWE, or AEW.

Following his landmark triumph, Slater expressed deep gratitude for the encouragement he encountered on his journey toward realizing his dream of world title glory.

“I strongly believe in self-belief, manifestation, and everything tied to that mindset. I could always picture myself holding a belt like this,” Slater stated, proudly displaying the TNA World Championship belt. “When individuals inquire if anxiety or worry gets to me, I tell them no. I genuinely trust that events are unfolding exactly as they should.

“I am simply so thankful. I appreciate the individuals God has placed in my life,” he added. “I’m thankful for the surroundings God has provided for me.”

Slater summed it up by stating, “I take immense pride in representing Total Nonstop Action!”

Slater first stepped into a TNA ring at age 18 while the organization was touring the United Kingdom in 2023.

Ever since that debut, Slater has established himself as a top-tier star within TNA.

The British wrestler has captured the TNA X-Division Championship twice, making history as its youngest titleholder. He ultimately surrendered his second X-Division title in exchange for an opportunity to challenge Nemeth at Bound For Glory.

Vacating the X-Division crown turned out to be a successful gamble for Leon Slater, who put on a resilient performance to defeat Nic Nemeth in the main event of Bound For Glory.

Near the contest’s climax, Slater managed to endure a back-to-back combination of Nemeth’s Skull Crushing Finale and Famouser, kicking out just before the three-count.

Slater subsequently dodged an attempted Sweet Chin Music from Nemeth and dropped the former WWE superstar with a sharp scissor kick.

The 22-year-old athlete then executed a 450 splash onto Nemeth, though Nemeth managed to kick out right at the final moment.

Attempting a second 450 splash, Slater met Nemeth’s raised knees, leading to a quick roll-up pin attempt by Nemeth that almost ended the match. Nemeth followed up by executing the Danger Zone, yet the British competitor kicked out once again.

Slater ultimately sealed the victory with a decisive 450 splash to gain the pinfall, officially cementing his place as the youngest World Champion TNA has ever crowned.

Barely reaching legal drinking age, Slater has already compiled an extraordinarily remarkable list of achievements.

In addition to his two X-Division Championship reigns, Slater once squared off against Oba Femi for the NXT Championship. Throughout his career, he has shared the ring alongside and across from notable names like AJ Styles, Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee, Mustafa Ali, Nic Nemeth, and Jeff Hardy.

Coming off his record-breaking victory, Slater is slated to make an appearance on the upcoming broadcast of TNA iMPACT! scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13.
