Valkyries sign Tiffany Hayes to one-year deal.

The Golden State Valkyries confirmed on Saturday the re-engagement of unrestricted player Tiffany Hayes for a single-season agreement.

Hayes, at 36 years old, initially declared her departure from the sport in 2023, yet subsequently rejoined the WNBA for a one-year commitment with the Las Vegas Aces in the subsequent year, where she earned the title of Sixth Player of the Year.

She inked a twelve-month pact with the newly formed Valkyries in February of 2025, recording averages of 11.7 points, 3.8 boards, and 3.0 dimes across 26 contests. A knee ailment sidelined her for the team’s last eight regular-season matchups, additionally sidelining her from postseason play.

Valkyries general manager Ohemaa Nyanin released a statement, affirming, “Tip was instrumental in establishing the initial groundwork for this squad, both during games and off-court, an invaluable contribution. She stands as a seasoned leader and an accomplished athlete who consistently performed for the Bay Area. It is genuinely significant to have Tip rejoin us in what has become her alternate residence.”

The thirteen-year professional athlete achieved All-Star status in 2017 and was recognized on both the All-WNBA and All-Defensive rosters in 2018. 

Hayes secured consecutive national titles while at UConn in the 2009-10 seasons and was chosen by the Atlanta Dream during the second phase of the 2012 draft.

The Valkyries will commence their regular season campaign against the Seattle Storm on the eighth of May.
