Lerone Murphy is set to face Movsar Evloev in the main event of UFC London, and a prominent Oktagon MMA competitor, who shares some regional ties with Murphy, has offered his perspective on this featherweight encounter.
Considering that both individuals are emerging talents from the European mixed martial arts circuit, and acknowledging a certain personal favoritism, Denis Frimpong, when asked for his assessment of the Movsar Evloev versus Lerone Murphy match scheduled for March 21st, articulated [via Bowks Talking Bouts],
“My belief is that [Murphy] will knock him out. I find momentum to be an incredibly potent factor. Lerone has accumulated significant momentum, culminating in his most recent bout against Aaron Pico on brief notice, where he defeated him with a spinning elbow, marking one of the year’s standout knockouts. I also recall an instance where he supposedly knocked out Evloev during a previous sparring session. There was a video circulating online that had been uploaded, and I am under the impression that [Evloev] was unconscious in that sparring footage.”
Frimpong suggests Lerone Murphy “will conclude the fight or simply dominate him”
As he further elaborated on this alleged sparring video, which he believes adds an intriguing element to the narrative of Murphy vs. Evloev at UFC London, Frimpong proceeded to state [as chronicled by Bowks Talking Bouts],
“I’m not certain of its location, whether it was in Thailand or elsewhere, but indeed. So, we shall observe the outcome on the night itself. However, as I’ve mentioned, I do possess a partiality. My conviction is that Lerone will either achieve a stoppage victory or merely outclass him entirely, you understand. While it might proceed to the judges’ decision, it would ultimately be a comprehensive victory.”
“Furthermore, I consider Lerone’s strategic combat intelligence to be among the elite globally. I would position him alongside martial artists such as [Demetrious Johnson] and Jon Jones and similar figures. In terms of combat IQ, it represents his most significant asset. Consequently, I envision him effortlessly overcoming Movsar, and subsequently vying for the championship against [Alexander] Volkanovski, a title I believe he rightfully deserves.”
