Dexter Lawrence expressed dissatisfaction with the New York Giants organization, leading to his imminent departure.
The New York franchise sent the star defensive lineman to the Cincinnati team as part of a deal encompassing the tenth overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, as confirmed by the Bengals this past Sunday.
Sources indicate Lawrence successfully completed his medical examination and committed to a new one-year contract valued at $28 million, per reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The New York team will now possess both the fifth and tenth selections in the upcoming player selection event, commencing on Thursday. Should the Giants retain these initial-round draft choices, they would represent their tenth and eleventh selections within the top ten since the 2015 season.
On the previous occasion the Giants held a pair of first-round draft selections, they acquired offensive lineman Evan Neal and pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux, an additional member of the Giants’ defensive front speculated to be a trade candidate this offseason.
