Peter Barrett is aiming to leave a lasting impression at BKFC 92 inside Fenway Park.
Since departing from the UFC, Barrett has enjoyed a highly successful run in BKFC; while he briefly competed on the regional MMA circuit, bare-knuckle boxing has revitalized his career. ‘Slippery Pete’ admitted he was uncertain about his future after his UFC departure, but he was intrigued by BKFC and thrilled when the organization expressed interest in signing him.
“Competing in BKFC was always something I needed to cross off my bucket list before retiring. It truly reignited my passion for the sport. After testing the waters with Gamebred bare-knuckle MMA, I was eager to experience true bare-knuckle boxing. This particular style matches perfectly with my forward-pressure approach. I absolutely enjoy it,” Barrett explained during his appearance on BJPENN.com’s Just Scrap Radio.
Currently boasting an undefeated 2-0 record in the BKFC ring, Barrett heard rumors about a potential event at Fenway Park following his recent victory. As a Massachusetts native, he made it abundantly clear that he would refuse to compete for the promotion again unless he was included on the historic Fenway lineup.
“I informed my management team that if the Fenway event became a reality and they attempted to place me on a different card, I would pack up, walk away from the promotion, and look for fights elsewhere. I absolutely had to be on the Fenway card. The energy across all the training camps is unbelievably high. Everyone is incredibly hyped for Fenway,” Barrett noted.
When Barrett makes his walkout at Fenway Park for BKFC 92, he will share the ring with a familiar face in Elijah Harris. In fact, Harris’s most recent opponent was Barrett’s close friend, Rico DiSciullo.

While Barrett is fully aware of the unpredictable nature of bare-knuckle combat, he is confident that Elijah Harris will not be able to keep pace with him.
He anticipates that his relentless pressure will overwhelm Harris, ultimately leading to a spectacular knockout finish.
“I have no fear of fighting at a high pace, maintaining heavy pressure, and staying right in his face until he goes down. I am preparing for a showcase of highly calculated violence,” Barrett shared. “I’ll make the necessary adjustments in the moment, shut down the distance, and drop him. Both of his BKFC victories happened immediately after the opening bell by catching opponents off guard. He starts very aggressively but has a weak chin and gets dropped frequently. I’ve thoroughly studied his tape, and I don’t see him as a major threat. Once we get past his initial burst, he’s done.”
Should Barrett secure a knockout at Fenway Park, his objective is to sign a new contract with BKFC and secure a title opportunity within his subsequent couple of bouts.
“I’m taking things one step at a time and focusing on the task at hand. My friend Rico is currently one fight ahead of me in the rankings. Once he begins pushing for his shot at the belt, I’ll start pushing for mine. I have just one bout remaining on my current deal, and when negotiations open up, I want clauses inserted ensuring that a couple more wins will grant me a title fight. The ultimate dream is to win the championship, defend it repeatedly, and eventually retire at the top as a world champion,” Barrett concluded.
