The Bulls are currently awaiting the results of a scan to determine the availability of Handre Pollard for their upcoming United Rugby Championship match against the struggling Scarlets.

Pollard suffered a hamstring injury during the Bulls’ 34-26 victory over Ulster in the URC, and his fitness status will be confirmed once the scan results are reviewed.

At the same time, the third-placed team in the URC has provided updates concerning fellow players, wing/centre Canan Moodie and scrum-half Embrose Papier.

Moodie has returned to training following the Head Injury Assessment (HIA) return-to-play protocols. He will not be eligible for selection this week, while Papier is in recovery following an ankle surgery and is expected to be unavailable for several weeks.

In other injury-related news, the Bulls have reported that wing Cheswill Jooste has had surgery for a fractured cheekbone. After suffering a head injury against Ulster, the speedy player faces a mandatory two-week recovery period under HIA guidelines, and further rest has been recommended.

Centre Sango Xamlashe will not be available for selection this week as he has completed HIA protocols following a concussion sustained during Saturday’s match, while wing Thakir Abrahams is not anticipated to miss more than a week due to a hamstring injury.
