FC Barcelona have finalized the acquisition of Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal for a fee estimated at €10m (£8.6m), securing the Brazilian forward for LaLiga just before the window closed.
The 29-year-old attacker has committed to a three-year deal with the Blaugrana, following successful negotiations between Barcelona and Arsenal during the weekend.
Jesus flew to Spain to undergo his medical examinations prior to signing his official contract, finalizing the move shortly before the Tuesday deadline.
Securing a new striker had become a top priority for Barcelona in the final days of the window after both Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres departed the club.
Although they originally pursued Atletico Madrid forward Julián Alvarez, negotiations stalled, leading the Catalan giants to shift their focus toward Jesus instead.
Hansi Flick’s team gains a wealth of Premier League and Champions League expertise with the Brazilian, who spent four campaigns at Arsenal after transferring from Manchester City back in 2022.
During his tenure with the Gunners, Jesus featured in 123 matches, finding the net 32 times and contributing 22 assists, though multiple injury setbacks repeatedly interrupted his progress in North London.
Following a severe knee injury sustained in January 2025, he managed to make 27 appearances over the course of the previous season, recording six goals.
