The New Jersey Devils have appointed Jessica Campbell as manager of hockey development and named Bryan McCabe as VP of prospect personnel, while also naming him assistant GM for the AHL’s Utica Comets.
These staffing changes, revealed Wednesday as training camps open, represent the newest management decisions under general manager Sunny Mehta.
Campbell transitions to the Devils’ staff after a two-season run working behind the bench for the Seattle Kraken. During that tenure, she became the historic first female to hold a full-time, on-bench assistant coaching position in the NHL.
Both Campbell and McCabe will report directly to Braden Birch, the assistant GM who joined Mehta’s management group from the Florida Panthers. McCabe is also a former Panthers executive, having served there as director of player personnel.
