The Jordan Esports Federation (JEF) has entered into a memorandum of understanding with King Hussein Business Park (KHBP) in Amman, which provides the national organization a structured method to conduct additional tournaments and events at its existing location.

Details of the agreement

KHBP made the announcement on Sunday via a statement posted on its official site. Prince Omar bin Faisal, who presides over the JEF, was present for the contract’s signing.

As outlined in the MoU, both the federation and the business park will collaboratively host and organize specialized competitions within the KHBP premises. They are also set to accommodate international delegations and official visitors attending these events. In addition to competitive activities, both entities are planning to work together on media and marketing initiatives, engage in shared educational, training, and community projects, as well as exchange knowledge and expertise.

Neither organization has made the financial details or the duration of the agreement public.

Statements from both parties

KHBP’s CEO, Eng. Ammar Ezzeddin, provided insight into the MoU as part of the park’s broader goals. “This collaboration represents our continuous efforts to cultivate a supportive environment for institutions and initiatives while establishing KHBP as a center for innovation and technology,” he stated.

He continued: “We anticipate assisting the sector in flourishing and staging more tournaments and events that showcase Jordanian talent and enhance the Kingdom’s visibility in this arena.”

JEF Vice President Hazem Bawab emphasized the importance of competitive and grassroots objectives. “This agreement marks a pivotal step in our mission to advance the esports sector in Jordan and improve the quality of local, regional, and international competitions and activities,” he remarked.

Bawab further elaborated: “We look forward to leveraging the infrastructure and capabilities that KHBP provides to expand our efforts, foster young talent, and implement joint programs that support industry growth and promote greater involvement.”

THE ARC as a focal point of Jordan’s esports initiative

The agreement formalizes an existing relationship already in progress. According to The Esports Radar, the JEF, recognized by the government as the regulator for esports in the nation, is headquartered at the park located in West Amman.

Much of this operation occurs at THE ARC, which is the gaming arena and dome within the park. The same report details past happenings there, such as the fourth Arab Esports League, a Women’s Esports Championship, and Red Bull Login, which served as Jordan’s national finals for Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2. The venue also acts as an incubation center supported by the federation and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, hosting training camps for aspiring professional players.

KHBP has become a focal point for esports investments for some time now. In 2024, gaming lounge operator True Gamers announced intentions to launch an esports venue in Jordan at the business park, where its Chief Product Officer publicly expressed gratitude to the JEF and Prince Omar.

The timing also places Amman under the industry’s spotlight. PocketGamer.biz notes that Pocket Gamer Connects Jordan is scheduled for 7 and 8 November, drawing many key figures from the regional gaming industry to the city later this week.
