“My desire to make sacrifices, work hard, push my limits, and battle for another championship remains as strong as ever.
“I am confident that I can assist in guiding the Philadelphia 76ers to a title, and I cannot wait to bring excitement to a new group of supporters as I begin this final chapter.
“My deepest thanks to Los Angeles. Miami will always hold a special place in my heart, and Northeast Ohio remains my true home!”
In addition to his statement, James uploaded a retrospective video on Instagram charting his legendary career path, which culminated in the reveal of the 76ers logo to cement his decision.
Philly’s front office has orchestrated a massive summer, securing both James and Jaylen Brown. Brown offered an understated response to his new teammate’s arrival, sharing only the hashtag #throwtheballup on Twitter.
Conversely, Tyrese Maxey and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro were ecstatic, celebrating the blockbuster acquisition with immense enthusiasm.
