Gloucester Hartpury has announced the acquisition of stellar Wallaroos tighthead prop Bridie O’Gorman ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 JAECOO Premiership Women’s Rugby campaign.

The NSW Waratahs front-rower, who has earned 43 caps representing Australia, only began playing rugby at 19 years old while attending Sydney University. Within a year, she earned a spot in the inaugural Waratahs lineup and went on to make her international debut against Fiji in 2022.

Since making her debut, she has featured for the Wallaroos in two Women’s Rugby World Cups and heads to Kingsholm decorated with seven Super Rugby Women’s championship titles.

Dan Murphy, the head of rugby at Gloucester Hartpury, commented: “Bridie is an incredible addition to our squad at Gloucester Hartpury, and we are confident she will have a highly beneficial influence on the team. She has forged a remarkable career in a very brief period, having only taken up the sport at age 19, and her progression through the Waratahs to the Wallaroos highlights her immense talent and dedication.

“On the field, Bridie is a set-piece expert who will bring valuable international depth to our forward pack. We are thrilled to welcome Bridie to Gloucester Hartpury and look forward to seeing her contributions to the squad.”

The 27-year-old prop will link up with Gloucester Hartpury following the conclusion of Australia’s WXV Global Series schedule. While the Wallaroos suffered defeats to England and France in September, they ended their European tour on a positive note by defeating Scotland 30-10.

Later this month, the Wallaroos are set to host Scotland for consecutive weekend matches in Sydney and Canberra as the squad looks to wrap up their year in winning fashion.

O’Gorman remarked: “Having played all of my rugby in Australia up to this point, the chance to test myself in a different tournament, setting, and style of play was highly appealing to me.

“Gloucester Hartpury has a fantastic reputation for challenging at the top of the JAECOO PWR, which made this feel like a wonderful opportunity. I am eager to get started, connect with the squad and staff, and help the club both on and off the pitch. I can’t wait to see what this next phase of my career holds.”
