Liverpool Target £60m Bournemouth Star

The Reds are gearing up to target Bournemouth once more, aiming for what could be their most significant signing yet.

In recent years, the Merseyside giants have frequently recruited from the Cherries, most prominently securing manager Andoni Iraola during the summer window after his highly impressive spell at the Vitality Stadium.

Even though Richard Hughes, another figure with ties to both clubs, has moved on, yet another talent from the south coast is reportedly on Liverpool’s radar as Iraola continues to reshape his squad.

At present, Milos Kerkez is the sole ex-Bournemouth representative in the Liverpool squad, having earned his high-profile move in 2025 following a breakout period in the top flight with the Cherries.

Nonetheless, the Hungarian international has faced some scrutiny at Anfield, finding it difficult to displace Andrew Robertson at left-back, with the experienced Scotland defender often being chosen over him last term.

According to reports from Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Premier League leaders are ready to replicate their previous strategy by moving for Kerkez’s successor at Bournemouth, Adrien Truffert.

The French defender has excelled since stepping into the left-back role vacated by Kerkez, performing brilliantly under Iraola last year and continuing that form under Marco Rose, which recently earned him a place in Zinedine Zidane’s national squad.

However, the article highlights that “a lack of quality left-sided defensive options across Europe has strengthened Bournemouth’s resolve to keep hold of the player,” resulting in a £60 million valuation being placed on the 24-year-old.

Such a fee would match the Cherries’ highest-ever departures, with Dominic Solanke and Antoine Semenyo both commanding similar sums in moves to top-six rivals, while Ilya Zabarnyi joined Paris Saint-Germain for a fee slightly below that milestone.

In comparison, the BBC previously reported that Kerkez was sold for roughly £40 million, indicating that securing his successor would require a 150 percent increase in expenditure from Liverpool.

It is understood by FourFourTwo that while the Cherries are under no immediate financial obligation to offload key squad members, they may still have to manage several potential exits.

Junior Kroupi is attracting attention from elite teams, whereas Alex Scott has rejected multiple offers to renew his contract in recent months.

While Transfermarkt currently rates Truffert at €35 million, Liverpool’s immediate focus turns to hosting Manchester City as domestic football resumes this weekend.
