The main event of tonight’s UFC Paris card featured an exciting lightweight showdown between Dan Hooker and Salahdine Parnasse.
Entering the cage with a professional record of 24-15, Hooker was eager to break a two-fight slide. “The Hangman” was last seen in action this February at UFC 325 in Sydney, where Benoit Saint Denis stopped him via second-round TKO. Before that, he fell victim to a submission loss against Arman Tsarukyan in November. Those defeats interrupted a successful run for the New Zealander, who had previously compiled three straight wins by defeating both Jalin Turner and Mateusz Gamrot.
On the other side of the Octagon, Salahdine Parnasse (24-2 MMA) made his highly anticipated promotional debut in front of his home crowd. Riding a dominant five-fight winning streak, the former double-champion of KSW recently secured a win over Kenneth Cross at the MVP MMA show in May.
The marquee matchup in France served as a spectacular introduction for Parnasse on the global stage. The former KSW titleholder wasted no time dismantling Hooker, stopping his veteran opponent within the opening round. A brutal liver kick kickstarted the final sequence, which was capped off by a devastating left hook that dropped Hooker. This stunning debut puts the promotional newcomer in line for a major matchup in his next outing.
