South Delhi Superstarz delivered a dominant display in the championship match of the Delhi Premier League 2026, securing a seven-wicket victory over Central Delhi Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Electing to field first after winning the toss, South Delhi kept Central Delhi to 182/8 and then sailed through the chase in a mere 18.2 overs. Ankit Dabas emerged as the star of the show, securing the Player of the Match award with an outstanding all-round display that featured a crucial half-century and a three-wicket bowling effort.
Central Delhi Kings register a competitive score
Put in to bat, Central Delhi Kings got off to a decent start. Although Siddharth Joon fell early for a quick five off four deliveries, Samarth Singh injected energy into the innings. Singh anchored the top order effectively, scoring a rapid 51 off 27 balls adorned with seven boundaries and a maximum.
Yugal Saini offered solid support with a composed 32 off 29 balls, including four fours, prior to Jonty Sidhu accelerating the run rate aggressively. Sidhu hammered a brisk 36 off just 19 deliveries, hitting two boundaries and three hits over the fence to give Central Delhi late-innings impetus.
Aditya Bhandari made 13 runs from 20 deliveries, and Vansh Bedi added a quickfire 11 off eight balls. A late cameo from Money Grewal, who struck four boundaries in his seven-ball 18, helped propel Central Delhi to a total of 182/8 at the end of their 20 overs.
In the bowling department, Divansh Rawat shone brightest for South Delhi, returning figures of 3/17 in his four-over spell. Vision Panchal was equally economical, taking 2/17, while Ankit, Pranshu Vijayran, and Anshuman Hooda chipped in with one wicket each.

South Delhi initiated their pursuit of the target with caution, as Pranav Pant made 13 off 14 balls. However, the momentum shifted once Anmol Sharma found his rhythm. Sharma paced his innings beautifully, scoring a confident 62 off 41 balls with the help of six boundaries and three sixes, keeping the chase well on track.
Subsequently, Ankit took control of the game, turning the championship match into a one-sided affair. The explosive all-rounder dismantled the opposition bowling with a blistering 62 off just 34 deliveries, smashing five fours and four maximums to ensure the required rate never became a worry.
Tejasvi Dahiya kept up the pressure with a rapid 18-ball 33, hitting three fours and three sixes to bring South Delhi closer to victory. Ekansh Dobal then put the finishing touches, remaining unbeaten on seven off three balls with a six, as South Delhi crossed the line to finish at 186/3 in 18.2 overs.
Ankit’s standout dual contribution with bat and ball was the defining factor of the final. Having registered bowling figures of 1/39, he then anchored the run chase with his superb 62 off 34 balls. His stellar all-round efforts ensured South Delhi successfully overhauled Central Delhi’s 182, clinching the title with 10 deliveries remaining.
