Two LANs Left for Wildcard’s Major Qualification

Empty Counter-Strike LAN stage symbolising Wildcard’s Major qualification race

During FOX Legacy Season 1 in Portugal, Wildcard secured a 5th-6th place finish, causing their estimated probability of advancing to the PGL Singapore Major to drop to 24% from an initial 39%.

Although the roster from North America is slated to participate in two more offline tournaments, this outcome significantly narrows their margin of mistake as they try to secure a spot at the prestigious championship. Given the Major’s prominent status within the global Counter-Strike landscape, these final ranking events carry immense weight for organizations currently fighting on the qualification threshold.

Postseason defeat increases pressure on Wildcard

The team began their upper-bracket playoff campaign against Nice Try, who occupied the 115th position in the Valve Regional Standings (VRS), but suffered an early upset. This loss relegated them to the lower bracket, where they managed a victory over EAC before ultimately being swept 2-0 by INFINITE.

This campaign concluded with a 1-2 overall record. Based on statistical projections formulated by Mischief as reported, the team’s calculated likelihood of qualifying decreased to 24% from its pre-tournament mark of 39% following their departure.

This disappointment came shortly after a runner-up performance at the iBUYPOWER Masters FML 2026, where they fell just short against Liquid. FOX Legacy represented the opening leg of three offline tournaments planned for the squad post-FML, meaning they now have only a pair of chances left to elevate their ranking.

Only Two Offline Events Left in Major Qualification Hunt

Up next for the lineup are FRAG University followed by FiRe Last Chance. The cited projections suggest that securing a top-eight placement in both competitions would raise their qualification probability to approximately 55%.

Claiming a trophy at either of these stops would provide an even more substantial upgrade to their odds. Emerging victorious at FRAG University is estimated to boost their prospects to 74%, whereas a triumph at FiRe Last Chance might push them up to 89%, a boost driven largely by the higher caliber of opponents present at the latter tournament.

It is worth noting that these figures are merely projections rather than guaranteed outcomes. Nevertheless, they highlight the critical influence their upcoming performances will have on their Major aspirations, as a strong showing at FiRe could ultimately prove more valuable than winning FRAG University.

Upcoming Performances Set to Decide Wildcard’s Fate

While their hopes remain alive, the squad’s path forward is now heavily reliant on securing strong finishes at their remaining two offline tournaments. They must replicate the form shown during their previous FML run and regain lost momentum following their disappointing exit in Portugal.

As a cornerstone of Counter-Strike’s historic competitive calendar, the PGL Singapore Major grants participating rosters a spot on the game’s grandest stage and an opportunity to etch their names alongside past champions. The roster’s upcoming test will take place at FRAG University, which precedes their final scheduled LAN opportunity at FiRe Last Chance to solidify their ranking standing.
