On Tuesday, the Italian club announced that the Scottish international is scheduled to undergo a cardiac arrhythmia ablation utilizing pulsed field ablation (PFA) in the near future.
In an official statement, Napoli declared: “After detecting a mild and benign arrhythmia, Scott McTominay is set to undergo a corrective procedure via cardiac arrhythmia ablation (PFA) over the next few days.”
PFA represents a catheter-assisted treatment that employs brief electrical impulses to isolate irregular cardiac tissue and manage heart rhythm issues. This modern methodology has seen growing adoption for addressing various cardiovascular rhythm conditions.
The Italian team further noted that they anticipate McTominay’s return to active duty once the upcoming international break concludes.
