According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, tight end Tucker Kraft has agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Green Bay Packers worth a reported $75 million.
With its terms extending through the 2030 campaign, the tight end’s fresh agreement features a $26.5 million signing bonus and has incentives that could push the total value up to $92 million.
A mutual desire to finalize the contract had existed for some time, with the only uncertainty being whether they would finalize it prior to Week 1 or let negotiations stretch into the regular season.
Data from Overthecap indicates that his new average yearly pay of $18.75 million ranks just below San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle ($19.1M) and Arizona Cardinals’ Trey McBride ($19M), while surpassing Atlanta Falcons’ Kyle Pitts ($18M) and Las Vegas Raiders’ Michael Mayer ($15M).
The 25-year-old Kraft enjoyed a highly productive 2024 campaign, racking up 707 yards and seven touchdowns on 50 receptions. Although a torn ACL in Week 9 prematurely ended a season that was trending toward career-high statistics, he had already amassed 489 receiving yards and six touchdowns in just eight games before his injury.
Since the turn of the millennium, only Rob Gronkowski and Mark Andrews have matched Kraft as the sole tight ends to record a minimum of 100 catches, 1,500 yards through the air, and 15 touchdowns during their initial three years in the NFL.
Drafted 78th overall out of South Dakota State in 2023, Kraft is preparing for his fourth year in the league. Now completely cleared following his ACL rehabilitation, he is set to take the field for the Packers’ season opener on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.
