The sporting world focuses its attention on the T-Mobile Arena tonight as Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn clash for the WBC welterweight championship.

Holding a record of 25-2, Garcia secured the WBC welterweight crown earlier this February by defeating Mario Barrios via a twelve-round unanimous decision. Before that victory, he dropped a decision to Rolando Romero in May 2025 in a bid for the vacant WBA welterweight belt. Out of his twenty-five professional wins, ‘King Ry’ has stopped twenty of his opponents by way of knockout or technical knockout.

On the other side, Conor Benn (25-1) heads into tonight’s championship matchup on the heels of back-to-back victories, having most recently claimed unanimous decision wins against Regis Prograis and Chris Eubank Jr. The British contender’s only professional defeat occurred back in April 2025, when he was outpointed by Chris Eubank Jr. in their initial showdown.

The championship showdown between Garcia and Benn was short-lived this evening. ‘King Ry’ established his presence early on, landing clean left hooks before sending Conor Benn to the canvas with a sharp straight right hand. Although the British challenger managed to stand up before the referee’s count reached ten, he was swiftly overwhelmed by a relentless flurry of strikes from the defending champion. Garcia put on a spectacular showcase and immediately began celebrating his dominant win.
