The situation is not improving for the Pittsburgh Penguins (3-6-1).
After the Penguins found the net within the first 71 seconds of the match, the Utah Mammoth (7-3-0) launched an offensive onslaught. Following the initial goal, Utah surged ahead to a 5-2 advantage by early in the third period and ultimately secured a 5-4 victory at the Delta Center.
The circumstances worsened for the Penguins. In the second period, winger Bryan Rust collided with the boards and had to exit the game. He did not return to play.
Coach Dan Muse was unable to provide any updates following the match.
Erik Karlsson and Rickard Rakell netted power-play goals, achieving a perfect two-for-two on the man advantage. The only highlights for the game can be drawn from this statistic. The Penguins have now endured four consecutive losses and seven out of eight (1-6-1).
