The 13th-ranked Oregon Ducks will be without the services of Dante Moore for Saturday’s matchup against No. 21 UCLA.
According to Oregon’s preliminary injury report released on Wednesday evening, Moore has been ruled out. Head coach Dan Lanning had previously indicated that the quarterback was back on the practice field this past Monday.
The injury occurred during the Ducks’ Week 4 victory against USC, where Moore sustained a concussion after his head slammed hard against the ground due to a helmet-to-helmet hit as he slid. USC linebacker Desman Stephens II was thrown out of the game for targeting on that sequence and was later barred from playing in the Trojans’ Week 5 matchup against Washington due to his conduct following the hit.
Because Moore is sidelined, former Nebraska signal-caller Dylan Raiola is set to make his debut start for the Ducks. Raiola took over for Moore in the USC game, completing 19 of his 25 passes for 289 yards and a pair of touchdowns to help secure a 41-27 win. Oregon did not play in Week 5.
Before choosing to stay in college for another year, Moore was projected as a possible top-two selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. He made the choice to return after Raiola pledged to Oregon after spending two seasons playing for the Cornhuskers.
In limited action across four contests, Moore has completed 69 out of 99 throws for 926 yards, logging nine touchdowns and zero interceptions. Meanwhile, Raiola has accumulated 413 passing yards on 36 total attempts, having thrown his first passes of the year during Oregon’s Week 3 triumph over Portland State.
