The main event of tonight’s UFC 332 card featured a championship clash for the vacant women’s flyweight crown between Natalia Silva and Wang Cong.
With former long-reigning titleholder Valentina Shevchenko sidelined and forced to relinquish the strap following a major injury, Silva and Cong battled to claim the unoccupied flyweight throne.
Stepping into the cage with a dominant 14-fight win streak, Natalia Silva (21-5-1 MMA) last tasted victory in the Octagon with a decision win against Rose Namajunas at UFC 324 this past January. The 29-year-old Brazilian competitor had not experienced a defeat since all the way back in December 2017.
On the other side, Wang Cong (10-2 MMA) walked into the championship matchup riding a four-fight run of victories, most recently defeating Tracy Cortez at UFC 329 in July. Known as ‘The Joker,’ her single professional setback occurred in November 2024, when she was submitted technically by Gabriella Fernandes.
The headlining match at UFC 332 delivered an entertaining, highly competitive battle. Silva controlled the tempo during the initial two frames, though Cong rallied strongly during the fourth and fifth rounds. Even with that late-round momentum, the Chinese contender was unable to sway the scorecards. Consequently, Silva captured the gold, ushering in a fresh chapter for the flyweight division.
Official Results from UFC 332: Natalia Silva defeats Wang Cong via unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49-46)
